Anil passed the UPSC exam on his third attempt. He was
unable to pass the pre-examination on his first attempt.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) results were
eagerly awaited throughout the country, and the wait ended on September 24. The
exam was passed by 761 candidates, 545 of whom were males and 216 of whom were
females.
Among the top scorers is Anil Basak, who achieved All India
Rank 45 in the UPSC CSE this year and shared his inspiring story with us.
Anil Basak secured 45th rank in the UPSC examination by
making the title of Robert Schuller's book, 'Tough Times Do Not Last, But Tough
People Do,' his mantra. Anil's story of achieving success as a resident of
Kishanganj, Bihar, is very inspiring for a variety of reasons.
Anil passed the UPSC exam on his third attempt. He was unable
to pass the pre-examination on his first attempt. However, on his second
attempt, he was ranked 616th. Even after this, he did not give up and continued
to try. He took the Civil Services Examination for the third time and finished
45th.
Binod Basak, his father, used to travel from village to
village selling clothes. His father's life was filled with adversity. Anil
didn't want his father to have to struggle any longer. Anil is only the second
person in his family to have completed the tenth grade. And it is obvious that
he is the first member of his family to pass the UPSC exam.
Due to financial constraints, he did not pursue coaching from any institute after 2018. Anil was accepted into IIT Delhi's civil engineering programme in 2014. After some time, he began preparing for the UPSC. He attributes his success to his family and friends.
